Coviant Gains New Leadership

by | Aug 15, 2019

It is with great pleasure that I announce that I have joined the team at Coviant, taking the reins from Coviant’s founders.  There has been a lot of great work, energy, and love poured into Coviant over the past 15 years, and the Diplomat MFT product is the value leader for secure file transfer automation.  I am proud to have this opportunity to continue the tradition of delivering excellent solutions, services, and support at tremendous value to customers.

During my more than 19 years of experience in the Managed File Transfer market, I have developed deep and broad experience with the real-world complexities of file transfer-based integration and automation.  I had the pleasure of leading the architecture and development of an award-winning Managed File Transfer product that has been successfully deployed world-wide by thousands of companies, running the gamut of complex integrations, strict service level agreements, and stringent regulations.  I enjoy working directly with customers to understand their specific needs, and addressing them with secure, resilient, easy-to-operate solutions.  I have learned – and continue to learn – about the evolving technologies and patterns around modern Enterprise Integration, and enjoy distilling the hype into real-world, pragmatic solutions to help customers adapt and evolve.  I have had the pleasure of speaking to these topics at conferences throughout the U.S. and the U.K., helping technologists understand how technologies can help them become more efficient and secure.

I am excited to join Coviant because of how well the Diplomat MFT product readily solves a lot of the pain I have seen in the world of secure file transfer, automation, and integration.  Diplomat does things a bit differently from other MFT vendors, which turns out to be a very good thing in many cases!  Coviant solves some very specific problems of Enterprise Integration very well in the rapidly evolving world of IT, which is becoming less about servers cordoned off in the data center that receive files and perform proprietary processes to perform integration, and more about efficient utilization and integration of pervasive, commodity capabilities (like Cloud Storage, Web Services, and Serverless computing).  While traditional Managed File Transfer vendors struggle to shoehorn their solutions into Cloud offerings to match these needs, IT employees are avoiding monolithic file transfer servers and looking for ways to easily orchestrate file interactions between existing, disparate systems.  Thus, file transfer integration has become more about workflow automation technology that can move files to and from myriad modern services that fit a particular business need, providing both the “set-it-and-forget-it” confidence that things will work, and the facility of changing integration interfaces (aka “endpoints”) easily and quickly, leaving critical business workflows running smoothly.  Coviant Diplomat MFT does this very well.

Coviant Software has a long history of achieving these goals of efficiency, versatility, and effectiveness.  With a continued laser focus on the orchestration of secure file movement, with full governance and flexible business logic, Coviant’s Diplomat Managed File Transfer is a solution that I am proud to represent and to further its capabilities in response to customers’ needs and shifts in technology.  It is my ardent goal to increase the breadth and depth of the Coviant solutions to better serve our customers, and to continue providing solutions with the best value on the market.
