New Certified File Transfer Professional Program (CFTP) trains IT staff how to evaluate, deploy, configure and maintain Managed File Transfer solutions.
Coviant Software announces the availability of the Certified File Transfer Professional Program (CFTP), the industry’s first vendor-neutral certification for file transfer professionals.
The CFTP program was developed by a group of Managed File Transfer vendors lead by File Transfer Consulting, a resale and services firm focused on designing Managed File Transfer solutions that address complex file transfer issues. Representatives from eight managed file transfer companies helped develop, pilot and refine the CFTP program during a six-month pre-release beta test.
“Coviant Software helped us develop the type of managed file transfer training our customers have been seeking for years,” says Jonathan Lampe, CFTP program director. “It speeds up the onboarding process, helps companies get more out of their people and improves troubleshooting skills. All of which leads to happier and more loyal customers.”
The Certified File Transfer Professional Program delivers practical training for the operators, administrators and analysts supporting file transfer solutions. IT professionals can use the self-paced course to come up to speed on the concepts necessary to deploy, maintain and troubleshoot transmissions with critical business partners.
“We appreciate being included on the CFTP advisory board,” says Pam Reid, CEO of Coviant Software. “The CFTP Program provides an excellent foundation for new file transfer professionals and offers more experienced practitioners a way to further improve their skills.”
IT professionals earning a CFTP certificate can evaluate, deploy, configure and maintain secure file transfer technologies. The course covers secure FTP servers, FTP clients, automated file transfer and scripting, PGP encryption, and other common file transfer technologies.
The CFTP program consists of a free PDF study guide, on-demand video training and an examination questionnaire. The training covers a wide range of file transfer tools and examples include screenshots from a variety of file transfer products.
“Coviant Software’s Diplomat MFT products use a straightforward interface to define file transfer automation processes. A few sample screenshots from Diplomat MFT products help ground the study guide and video training with real-world examples,” notes Lampe.
