Acronis MassTransit support ends April 1, 2026
After this date, your MassTransit environment will receive no further updates from Acronis which can leave your file transfers exposed and you risk the following:
- No security patches for new vulnerabilities
- No technical support or bug fixes from Acronis
- Compliance auditors flag unsupported software
- No guarantee of compatibility with future OS updates
If your organization relies on Acronis MassTransit for managed file transfer, the End of Life announcement means it’s time to plan your migration. Without ongoing security patches and support, continuing to run MassTransit puts your organization at risk — particularly if you handle sensitive data subject to HIPAA, SOX, GLBA, PCI-DSS, or GDPR compliance requirements.
Diplomat MFT by Coviant Software is a proven, enterprise-grade MassTransit alternative that delivers the same core capabilities — automated server-to-server transfers, multi-protocol support, workflow automation, and web-based management — while adding significant advantages including built-in PGP encryption management, a 20-year track record of zero CVEs, transparent published pricing, and an included Edge Gateway for DMZ protection.
Whether you relied on MassTransit SFTP for secure file hosting, MassTransit FTP for legacy integrations, or MassTransit HP for full enterprise automation and site-to-site transfers, Diplomat MFT is the MassTransit replacement that covers all these use cases — and more. It’s worth noting that MassTransit isn’t an isolated case: Acronis has also discontinued Acronis Cyber Files and Acronis Files Connect, signalling a complete strategic withdrawal from file management and transfer. Choosing a vendor whose entire business is MFT matters — and Coviant Software is 100% focused on managed file transfer. This singular focus means faster innovation, deeper MFT expertise, and the kind of dedicated customer support that large, diversified vendors simply cannot match. Our customers consistently rate Coviant Software among the industry’s highest for customer satisfaction on platforms like G2 and Software Reviews.
If you’re looking for an Acronis MassTransit replacement or evaluating MassTransit FTP alternatives, Diplomat MFT has an edition that fits your needs — at a price that might surprise you.

Understanding the features and benefits of the technologies
Acronis MassTransit supports file transfers via FTP, SFTP, HTTP, HTTPS, and their proprietary MTAP (MassTransit Advanced Protocol), with UDP acceleration available for large file transfers. With support ending April 1, 2026, none of these protocols will receive further security patches or updates from Acronis. Generally, SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol) is the safest and most secure protocol to use. Diplomat MFT supports SFTP, FTPS, FTP, and HTTPS, with the ability to send files via AS2 — covering and extending the secure protocols MassTransit users rely on, without the risk of running on an unsupported platform.
Employs SFTP and OpenPGP encryption for highest security
Calendar exclusions prevent transfers on bank holidays
Reducing risk of human error by automating transfers
Robust scheduler for easy configuration of transfer times
Full audit trails, file archiving, and notifications
Integrates with various protocols (SFTP, FTPS, AS2, HTTPS)
What does “Enterprise” file transfer really mean?
The term “enterprise” implies a product has the features, capacity, and job management capabilities to handle the demands of the largest organizations. With managed file transfer software, that means automating the largest file transfers to an extensive digital supply chain, doing it securely and reliably, and keeping pace no matter how your needs expand. It also means including enterprise-class features such as full auditing, alerting, data archiving and retention, directory management integration, PGP encryption management, and 24×7 support. Acronis MassTransit delivered many of these capabilities — but with support ending April 1, 2026, the platform can no longer be considered enterprise-grade. Enterprise software requires ongoing security patches, vendor support, and compliance assurance, none of which MassTransit will provide after that date. And so, if you’re looking for a MassTransit replacement and need an MFT solution that has been proven in the most demanding enterprise environments — with a 20-year track record, zero CVEs, and a vendor whose entire business is managed file transfer — take a look at Diplomat MFT. You’ll be glad you did.

What does Acronis MassTransit End of Life mean (and is there a replacement from Acronis)?
End of Life (EOL) means Acronis will no longer release security patches, bug fixes, feature updates, or provide technical support for MassTransit. Your existing installation will continue to function, but running EOL software exposes your organization to unpatched security vulnerabilities, compliance gaps, and zero recourse if something breaks. For organizations handling data subject to HIPAA, SOX, GLBA, or GDPR, running unsupported file transfer software could be flagged as a compliance violation during an audit. Acronis has not released a successor product and won’t be offering a migration path.
This isn’t surprising as they’ve also discontinued Acronis Cyber Files and Acronis Files Connect, signalling a complete strategic withdrawal from file management and transfer. Their focus has shifted entirely to backup, disaster recovery, and cybersecurity. MassTransit users need to evaluate third-party alternatives and Diplomat MFT by Coviant Software is purpose-built to serve as that replacement.
Can Diplomat MFT replicate the key workflows I had in MassTransit?
Yes. Diplomat MFT supports the core MFT workflows that MassTransit users rely on:
- Automated server-to-server transfers via SFTP, FTPS, HTTP/S — replacing MassTransit’s site-to-site functionality
- Workflow automation with event-driven triggers, conditional logic, and scheduling — matching and exceeding MassTransit’s automation rules
- File replication and synchronization — a direct replacement for MassTransit’s replication capabilities
- Active Directory integration for user provisioning and management
- Ad hoc person-to-person transfers via the enterprise-grade SFTP Server, protected behind the included Edge Gateway
- Large file transfers (100GB+) with checkpoint-restart, inline compression, and concurrent processing
- Email notifications and alerting — plus Slack, Teams, and custom webhook support that MassTransit didn’t offer
Additionally, Diplomat MFT adds capabilities MassTransit never had: native PGP encryption management, auto-rotating PGP subkeys, cloud storage integration (AWS S3, Azure Blob, Google Cloud, SharePoint), and a modern job monitoring dashboard.
What about MassTransit's MTAP protocol and UDP acceleration? What happens to those connections?
MassTransit’s proprietary MTAP protocol and UDP-based acceleration (UDT) only work between MassTransit instances. Any partners or systems you connect to via MTAP will also need to transition to a standard protocol like SFTP or FTPS when MassTransit reaches full discontinuation so you may want to reach out to your trading partners as they may be in the same position.
Diplomat MFT uses industry-standard protocols (SFTP, FTPS, HTTP/S) which are universally supported and deliver excellent throughput for the vast majority of enterprise file transfer scenarios. This is actually an advantage: you eliminate a single-vendor dependency and gain compatibility with virtually any trading partner or system. As MassTransit’s EOL demonstrates, proprietary protocols create lock-in to ecosystems that can disappear entirely.
How long does a migration from MassTransit to Diplomat MFT typically take?
Migration timelines depend on the complexity of your environment, but Coviant Software’s MFT Migration Service is designed to make the process as fast and painless as possible:
- Simple environments (handful of automated jobs, basic SFTP): Often completed within 1–2 weeks
- Medium environments (dozens of workflows, AD integration, multiple endpoints): Typically 2–4 weeks
- Complex enterprise environments (hundreds of workflows, custom integrations, multi-site): 4–8 weeks with structured project management
Coviant Software provides hands-on migration assistance with regular check-ins throughout the process. You can also take Diplomat MFT for a free 15-day trial to validate your workflows before committing.
How does Diplomat MFT pricing compare to what I was paying for MassTransit?
MassTransit used an opaque, contact-for-quote pricing model with additional costs for Acronis Advantage Premier support. Diplomat MFT takes the opposite approach with fully transparent pricing:
- Basic Edition: $1,149/year — Automate SFTP and PGP encryption in one solution
- Standard Edition: $2,899/year — Integrate secure file transfer into business processes
- Enterprise Edition: $10,999/year — Full enterprise MFT with unlimited jobs, clustering, and complete auditing
All editions include support and maintenance. There are no per-user fees, no per-transfer fees, and no hidden add-on charges. Many MassTransit users find that Diplomat MFT delivers more capability at a lower total cost of ownership. View full pricing details → https://www.coviantsoftware.com/diplomat-managed-file-transfer/pricing/
Does Diplomat MFT support compliance with HIPAA, SOX, and GLBA?
- Built-in PGP encryption automation for data at rest and in transit (MassTransit only supported in-transit encryption)
- Comprehensive audit trails with detailed logging of every file transfer operation
- One-click audit reports and SFTP mapping and reports
- FIPS 140-2 compliance for government and financial sector requirements
- Role-based access controls with multi-factor authentication
- Support for elliptical curve cryptography and NIST-standard post-quantum cryptography
- Edge Gateway to prevent sensitive data from landing in the DMZ
Perhaps most importantly, Diplomat MFT is actively supported and patched which is a critical requirement for any compliance audit. Running an EOL product like MassTransit is a compliance red flag.
Is Coviant Software financially stable? I don't want to face another EOL situation.
This is a smart question — and it’s exactly why Coviant Software’s ownership structure matters. We are a privately held, independently owned company that is 100% focused on managed file transfer. There are no private equity investors pushing for short-term returns, no plans to bundle MFT into a larger product suite, and no risk of the product being deprioritized following an acquisition.
MassTransit’s EOL isn’t an isolated incident. Acronis has also discontinued Acronis Cyber Files (enterprise file sync and share) and Acronis Files Connect (Mac file access integration) — signalling a complete strategic withdrawal from file management and transfer products. When a vendor deprioritizes an entire product category, individual products inevitably get cut. Coviant Software only does MFT and it’s all we do, and we’ve been doing it for over 20 years. Our customers’ ongoing investment in Diplomat MFT is safe.
I only used MassTransit SFTP (the free version). Do I still need a replacement?
Yes. Even if you were using MassTransit SFTP rather than the full MassTransit HP edition, the End of Life applies across the entire MassTransit product line. That means no more security patches for the SFTP server component either — which is a significant risk if you’re hosting an internet-facing SFTP endpoint.
Diplomat MFT includes a dedicated SFTP Server as a direct MassTransit SFTP replacement, with added benefits: built-in PGP encryption, the Edge Gateway for DMZ protection, IP whitelisting, brute-force protection, and comprehensive logging. The Basic Edition starts at just $1,149/year — likely comparable to or less than what many organizations spend maintaining an unsupported MassTransit SFTP instance.

Diplomat MFT has been a powerful workhorse for all of our enterprise file exchange for many years. No other enterprise application we use comes with the same level of support we receive from Coviant.

Eric D.
Director of Information Technology
The support is fantastic. I had to contact them on a few occasions – as it turns out, not for issues with Diplomat MFT but issues with one of the FTP partners. Coviant support stuck with me and went above and beyond to troubleshoot and figure out the issue.

Dave L.
Manager of Information & Technology
Diplomat MFT is a solid data transfer product, its easy to set up, and easy to use. I like the way the transaction builder is laid out. It’s so easy to understand what values it wants.

Adah B.
Extremely robust platform for managing our enterprise file transactions. Every upgrade provides us with additional useful tools to streamline our business processes.

Stephen H.
IT BI Analyst SE
I find the sftp file transfers to be the most helpful tool of Diplomat MFT. No need for programming, the interface is customized already and users only need to fill in the boxes.

Jeff M.
The interface and GUI are very straightforward. The options are simple and labeled so anyone can understand how to set up and configure. The ability to test something without actually sending something is also beneficial.
