The Customer
A top ten U.S.-based financial institution and one of the largest banks in the world had used RepliWeb to manage web content synchronization across its online presence and to handle some secure, managed file transfers between divisions within the company. When Qlik announced it was retiring RepliWeb and would end support for the product in 2022, the Financial Institution began searching for a RepliWeb replacement. One of the products it looked at was Diplomat MFT from Coviant Software.
The Challenge
As a large bank in an industry where maintaining brand confidence is a high priority, the Financial Institution needed a reliable means of replicating and synchronizing content across all of its web properties. And since the product it chose would also need to handle the transfer of sensitive data within the company (as well as to some external partners), it needed a product that it was confident would be secure. The Financial Institution was unwilling to take chances should any transferred files contain customer account or transactional data, personnel files, corporate intellectual property, or other regulated information.
The lead developer tasked with finding the RepliWeb replacement search also knew that the teams using the new solution were not staffed with IT personnel, but people whose functions were mostly administrative in nature. Therefore, the replacement solution needed to be easy to use and incorporate automations for key functionality to minimize the risk of human error.
